Para esos momentos la cancha del teatro ya se veía repleta por lo que me dispuse a tomar ubicación y capturar los primeros registros de la jornada que les dejo a continuación.
Así se despidieron los Bbs Paranoicos con un “gracias por aguantarnos, que ya vienen los maestros” y tiraron su ultima canción, pero en verdad fueron bien aceptados por el público, se les reconoció su trayectoria y se vacilaron sus canciones, una presentación breve pero justa, que logró su cometido y pudo encender los ánimos y calentar el escenario.
Eran las 21hrs ya y con increíble puntualidad aparecen en escena los veteranos del punk rock quienes sin mucha previa se lanza de golpe con The Resist Stance, Social Suicide y cerrando la ultima tripleta la clásica 21st Century, en ese momento recién miré bien el escenario para darme cuenta que tenían una pieza menos en el tablero, era Brett Gurewitz guitarrista y fundador quien hacia falta, no tengo idea porque no habrá participado de esta gira, pero aun así la formación con la que se presentaron era de lujo, cuentan con todos los miembros fundadores y los que no son (Brian Baker y Brooks Wackerman, guitarra y batería respectivamente) llevan mas de 10 años tocando con la banda, a Greg Hetson lo cuento como fundador pues está presente desde que ampliaron la banda a dos guitarras.
A esta altura ya no llovía mas gente de los balcones, la cancha estaba que reventaba y Los Angeles is Burning era la elegida para seguir con el desenfreno, le siguieron Wrong Way Kids procedente de su nueva placa y Sinister Rouge (que les dejo en video al final), la energía en el teatro era increíble, solamente comparable a lo que generó Motörhead en su visita de este año en la misma localidad, era imposible estar en un solo lugar, se formaba un circle pit en cada canción y para uno mismo era imposible no saltar teniendo en frente al don señor profesor del punk gritándote sus letras en la cara.

Pero como era de sospechar esto ya estaba por el final, ya me encontraba hace rato a guata pela, disfónico y con dificultad para respirar, cuando Along the Way y Fuck Armaggedon… This is Hell cerraban de forma oficial el setlist, obviamente los gritos no permitieron que se pudieran ir así tan fácilmente y volvieron al encore con un solo de batería que sirvió de introducción para American Jesús, canción que hizo mover a la masa con la misma intensidad que al principio opacando por completo todo esbozo de cansancio que pudo existir, a aquella le siguió Infected y para dar el gran cierre Sorrow, un tema que se volvió un clásico instantáneo en el momento que vio la luz por ahí cerca del 2002, especialmente porque marcó la vuelta de la banda al sello Epitaph y con ello también la vuelta del gran Brett “Religion” Gurewitz, que lastima que no se dejó ver esta vez por Chile, pero bueno, será para otra ocasión.
Ahora si que si, el final absoluto de una jornada marcada por la energía y personalmente por el recuerdo, que bueno poder tener en mi memoria las casi 2 horas que duro este concierto, quisiera haber grabado todo, o haber sacado mejores fotos, pero lamentablemente y afortunadamente se me olvida que ando con cámara, de todas formas no sirvió mucho pues como dije antes imposible estar quieto y tampoco quise quedarme pasmado en un solo lugar, si estaba en esa cancha era para vivir exactamente lo que pasó en aquel suelo, poder ver un grupo de californianos cuarentones y casi cincuentones que conservan la misma potencia en vivo que tienen sus discos grabados 30 años atrás, una calidad musical excepcional, una humildad que se refleja en el contacto con la gente y una integridad ideológica que los valida y sustenta para estar exactamente donde están. De seguro ninguno de ellos se imaginó que después de tantos años de formar una banda colegial podrían llegar hasta el culo del mundo y aquí tendrían una horda de gente esperando por ellos, escucharlos, cantar sus canciones y darles la acogida que se les dio, realmente me hubiese gustado asistir a sus anteriores presentaciones pero esta de seguro quedará por siempre implantada dentro de mis momentos favoritos.
